though of contraception including condoms can
provide 100% protection against pregnancy or
STI’s.
Bodyguards condoms are made from natural
rubber latex, dermatologically tested and are
lubricated to ensure maximum comfort and safety.
Using Bodyguards Condoms
If used correctly condoms help reduce the risk of catching HIV (AIDS) and many sexually transmitted infections.
- For anal intercourse, you should use additional lubrication on the outside of the extra safe condom to help reduce the risk of the condom breaking or coming off.
- Ensure that the lubricant you use is recommended for use with condoms and is NOT oil based.
- If you use a condom for oral sex first, you should use a new condom for any other type of sex that follows.
If you have had unprotected intercourse or are concerned about the possible failure of your method of contraception, consult a Doctor or Family Planning Clinic as soon as possible. Emergency contraception can be obtained from Doctors, most GUM clinics, Brook and Family Planning Clinics.

How to Use a Condom
No method of contraception including condoms can provide 100% protection against pregnancy or STI’s.
Follow all instructions closely:
Carefully open the condom wrapper by tearing down the serrated edge of the wrapper, be careful not to tear the condom. Handle the condom carefully as it can be damaged by fingernails, jewellery and sharp objects.
Either partner can put the condom on the erect penis. Take care to do this before the penis touches your partners body.
When placing the condom onto the penis make sure the roll is on the outside, if it’s on the inside the condom will not unroll.
Carefully hold the condom by the teat and squeeze the closed end of the condom with your forefinger and thumb as any air trapped inside a condom can cause it to break.
Still holding the condom by the teat, place the condom over the end of the penis. Carefully roll the condom down the full length to the base of the penis whilst still pinching the teat of the condom to stop any air being trapped inside.
Make sure that the condom fits securely to stop any fluid getting in or escaping. Make sure that the condom stays in place during use, should it unroll or indeed come off then discard the condom and replace with a new one.
After ejaculation, and while the penis is still erect, the condom should be held firmly in place at the base of the penis before withdrawal.
To remove the condom hold the base of the penis and carefully remove the condom. Wrap the condom in a tissue and put in the bin. Please do not flush it down the toilet. Never re-use a condom.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight
Don't forget
- Do not use oil based lubricants such as baby oil, butter,
petroleumjelly, body lotion and massage oils as these can
damage latex condoms, only use water based lubricants.
- Some medications applied to either the penis or vagina may
damage the condom so please check with your Doctor or
Pharmacist.
- Even if you are not planning on having sexual intercourse,
it’s sensible to carry condoms with you, just in case.
- Only use a Bodyguards Extra Safe condom for anal sex.
- Take care not to damage condoms whilst performing
oral sex.
- Check the expiry date on the condom wrapper
before you use it.
- Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight
- Never use a condom more than once.
